Didactic, Surgical Skills, and Meet-the-Expert Sessions Sharpen Surgical Expertise

August 26, 2026

The Didactic Courses and Surgical Skills Courses, along with the Meet-the-Expert Sessions, deliver immersive learning opportunities at Clinical Congress, with the Courses offering practical instruction, hands-on training, and both offering direct access to leading experts across a range of surgical specialties.

Register online or visit the onsite registration desk. All Didactic Courses, Surgical Skills Courses, and Meet-the-Expert Sessions are ticketed and require a separate fee in addition to Clinical Congress registration. Reduced registration fees for this year's Didactic Courses make these high-quality educational opportunities more accessible, enabling more surgeons to learn directly from leading experts in their respective fields.

Enrollment is limited to ensure a low faculty-to-learner ratio. Seats are filled on a first-come, first-processed basis.

Didactic and Surgical Skills Courses

Most of the Surgical Skills Courses will have two parts. Part 1 will consist of materials provided to registrants prior to the Part 2 in-person course presented onsite. Surgical Skills Courses follow a hybrid model with pre-course material, including recorded didactic lectures available online 2 weeks prior to the hands-on skills lab at Clinical Congress.

All requirements of these Didactic Courses and Surgical Skills Courses must be completed in order to receive AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™ and count for Self-Assessment Credit toward Part 2 of the Maintenance of Certification (MOC) Program. For American Board of Surgery (ABS) Diplomates, the MOC Part 2 requirement applies to those who have not yet completed the first ABS Continuous Certification Program Assessment Exam. Please refer to the online program and session descriptions to confirm.

Didactic Courses and Surgical Skills Courses will focus on knowledge building and skills development and enhancement through best practices in education and training. Cutting-edge topics explored this year include medical illustration and artificial intelligence (AI) skills.
