The ACS Senior Fellows Society is a novel program for senior and retired surgeons, allowing continuous career-spanning engagement with ACS activities that help foster bidirectional interactions across generations of surgeons. The inaugural Senior Fellows Society meeting was held at Clinical Congress 2025 in Chicago, with a committee structure to be formalized in the first quarter of 2026.

The American Pediatric Surgery Association (APSA) and the Senior Fellows Society (SFS) are partnering to present a webinar on key administrative and credentialing considerations surgeons should explore when transitioning from active practice, including practice contract, hospital privileges, malpractice coverage, state medical license, and Board certification options.
Membership in the ACS Senior Fellow Society is composed primarily of senior and retired Fellows of the College but is open to any member who identifies with the mission and is in good standing as defined by the ACS Board of Regents.
